Our Comenius team has been working on the Project in many ways. The students have learnt about the participating countries and the programme itself: its goals and purpose.
In January 2014 the Cypriot group had a competition.
They were given a general knowledge quiz on the
Comenius project and they were given a deadline
to complete it in groups. The first ones to answer
correctly were the winners.
So here they are!
Stelios Giorgallis,
Loukia Kotsiekka
and Koulla Mihailou.

Cypro-Syllabic Script
Cyprus got its name from the word copper or copper got its name from Cyprus. The island has been a favourite crossroad for many conquerors, traders and settlers and thus it has had numerous influences. The island had its own script, the Cypriot Syllabic Script which dates as far back as the 11th to the 4th centuries BC that is to say during the Iron Age. It was one of the first forms of writing.
